The Spaniard did just like last year and defeated Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon final. Last year it was a five-setter. This year it was a victory in three straight sets.
The numbers became 6–2, 6–2, 7–6 (7–4).
Afterwards, Alcaraz beamed with joy in the London sun.

The Serbian tennis legend Novak Djokovic had the opportunity to make history in this year's Wimbledon. With his seven previous titles, there was a chance to equal Roger Federer's record of eight wins.
But Carlos Alcaraz wanted otherwise.
"A dream for me"
The 21-year-old – who had three Grand Slam titles previously – started the match extremely strongly. Alcaraz took home both the first and second sets with 6–2 and disturbed Djokovic severely.
The third set became much more even. At 5–4, Alcaraz got no less than three match balls with his own serve – but failed to capitalize on any of these. "Nole, Nole, Nole", chanted an ecstatic London crowd.
The third set was instead decided in a tiebreak. There, Alcaraz got another match ball – and succeeded. The Spaniard broke Djokovic in three straight sets.

For Alcaraz, this was thus the second consecutive victory in Wimbledon and the second consecutive final victory against Novak Djokovic. Last year, he broke Djokovic's streak of wins in the four most recent editions of Wimbledon. Now, Djokovic will have to try to break Alcaraz's streak next summer instead.
"All honor to Carlos"
For Djokovic, it has also been some special weeks lately. The 37-year-old reached the quarterfinals in the French Championships in June but was forced to withdraw due to an injury. After the tournament, he underwent knee surgery.
Now, he made it all the way to yet another Wimbledon final – with a knee brace – and said afterwards that he was proud to have achieved that feat.
He also praised his opponent highly.
All honor to Carlos, who played fantastic and complete tennis. I tried to pressure him and saved three match balls. But it wasn't meant for me to win. He is absolutely a well-deserved winner today, says Djokovic.
