Barnabas Varga was involved in a nasty collision in Hungary's last group stage match against Scotland in the European Championship. The striker received an elbow to the head and fell helplessly to the ground, seemingly unconscious.

It was later confirmed that the striker had suffered multiple facial fractures, a concussion, and that the 29-year-old would undergo surgery.

Now, the Hungarian Football Association has some good news.

Earlier on Wednesday, Varga was discharged from hospital to return home to Hungary. The association wrote on its social media.

In a picture published by his club, Hungarian Ferencvaros, he and his girlfriend are seen sitting in a car, seemingly okay.

Varga will thus be able to continue following his national team from home, if there is any continuation. Hungary came third in their group and will only know after tonight's European Championship matches if they will advance or not.
