New solo album and a major European tour. Summer is shaping up to be hectic for Amanda Bergman, who is both excited and nervous.
We meet in Stockholm. Amanda Bergman is a bit late, due to the train from Sala. She still lives on a farm in Dalarna with her husband, children, and all the animals.
On Friday, Amanda Bergman will release her solo album "Your hand forever checking on my fever", which is partially about the sorrow after her father's death from cancer two years ago.
Are we bad at talking about death?
Most of the tracks on the new album were written by Amanda Bergman together with her husband Petter Winnberg. He has also produced.
The album will be released on her own, newly started label Cow Cow, which Amanda Bergman and Petter Winnberg run together from their farm in Dalarna. She says that's how she almost always works.
Musically, Amanda Bergman's solo work is relatively close to the music she makes with the band Amason, but practically it's of course different to make a solo album.
During the summer, she will be touring with Lars Winnerbäck on many performances. And she is also going on a major European tour. The tour premiere has already been completed and she thinks it's nice:
Amanda Bergman was born in 1987 and grew up in Gagnef.
As an artist, she has called herself Hajen, Idiot Wind, and Jaw Lesson. Her first solo album under her own name came out in 2016 and was called "Docks". On June 7th, she will release her second solo album "Your hand forever checking on my fever" on her own label Cow Cow.
The single "My hands in the water" deals with the sorrow after Amanda Bergman's father.
Amanda Bergman is also part of the group Amason, which also consists of Pontus Winnberg (Miike Snow), Petter Winnberg (Little Majorette), Nils Törnqvist (Little Majorette), and Gustav Ejstes (Dungen).
During the summer tour, Amanda Bergman will perform around Sweden, but will also visit Norway, the UK, Denmark, France, the Netherlands, Germany, and Belgium. The tour will conclude on September 28th in Umeå.
