Two nights in a row in May, armed boys who seem to have had their sights set on the Israeli embassy were arrested. Israel accuses Iran, which, according to the Security Service, hires Swedish gangs to commit crimes on Swedish soil.

Now, a 15-year-old boy is being sentenced for serious weapons offenses.

The sentence is eleven months of youth supervision, announces the Nacka District Court.

It was the night of May 16 that the police stopped a taxi in Tyresö, south of Stockholm. In the back seat sat the 15-year-old boy, from Västerås. He was wearing black gloves and carrying a loaded weapon.

He said he was going to visit his "friend" on Strandvägen in central Stockholm. The taxi, which was ordered by a woman in Skåne, had its GPS set to the Israeli embassy.

The boy, who had previously searched for the Israeli embassy and flag, had himself stated that he had been tasked with delivering a weapon to the location.

According to the taxi driver, the boy did not know the address he was going to, and then the 15-year-old called another person who gave the driver the correct address.

Arrests 14-year-old

In the 15-year-old's phone, there is communication with a client who calls himself "Avon Barksdale", who communicates with the boy in English.

It's an alias we're investigating to see if we can identify, says prosecutor Rasmus Öman.

The following night, May 17, a 14-year-old boy was arrested after a completed shooting near the embassy. The investigation is ongoing in that case. The boy is not criminally responsible, but several people are suspected of aiding and abetting.

The conclusion that it is the same client is close at hand, but it is not something that Öman, the lead investigator in both cases, wants to comment on.

Accuses Iran

According to Israel's intelligence agency Mossad, the shooting on May 17 was carried out by the criminal network Rumba, led by the wanted Ismail Abdo from Uppsala, on behalf of Iran.

The rival network Foxtrot, led by Abdo's former friend and now archenemy Rawa Majid, was behind an incident in January when a hand grenade was thrown at the embassy without detonating, according to Mossad.

The Security Service has confirmed that Iran uses Swedish gangs as intermediaries, but has not wanted to comment further on which events and networks are involved. Israeli and Jewish interests are specifically mentioned as Iranian targets.

We have nothing new to say and cannot comment further on what this is about, says Säpo's press spokesperson Karin Lutz about the events of May 16 and 17.
