The Hammarby coach Misja Pasjkin is worried about the future of Swedish bandy.

We must change the sport on several points, otherwise the risk is great that it will die out, he says to Expressen.

In an open letter, which the newspaper has published, Pasjkin writes that bandy needs to take inspiration from other sports and become more commercial.

There is so much we can do to get the audience to come and to get attention in the media, says Pasjkin.

Among other things, he believes that bandy should have more substitutes. Today, a team can have three senior substitutes and one junior on the bench during a match.

He also thinks that bandy should take a cue from how ice hockey matches are decided when they end in a draw, with an extension of a bonus point in five minutes with three against three on the pitch.

We must change the rules, if a match ends in a draw, it should go to an extension with seven against seven. The audience would love it, says Pasjkin.

The Elite League in bandy premieres on October 25.
