Iran's newly elected president Masoud Pezeshkian is congratulated by Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping, Syria's dictator al-Assad and Shia militia Hezbollah's leader Hassan Nasrallah.
"We in Hezbollah and in all resistance groups in the region... always see the Islamic Republic of Iran as a strong, stable and permanent support", says Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in a statement on social media, where he congratulates Pezeshkian for the "blessed election".
China's president Xi says in a statement that he is willing to deepen cooperation with Iran. Even Russia's Putin hopes for closer relations between "our friendly peoples".
Russia and Iran are both subject to Western sanctions and according to the Russian president, they can work together to "resolve international issues in a constructive way", according to a statement from the Kremlin.
The Iranian presidential election was held earlier than expected due to the helicopter crash in May when the former president Ebrahim Raisi died.
Only candidates loyal to the Islamic regime, with ayatollah Ali Khamenei at the helm, were allowed to stand. Many Iranians boycotted the election and according to the authorities, the voter turnout in the second round was just under 50 percent.
Even Syria's dictator Bashar al-Assad, who is closely allied with Tehran, sends his congratulations and writes in a statement that he hopes the friendship between the countries will continue to flourish.
Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdul Aziz expresses a wish for deeper cooperation between "our two brotherly peoples". And India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi sends his congratulations.
