In the landslide last autumn, a large part of the road was destroyed.

But now E6 at Stenungsund is ready to open for traffic again, on the morning of July 5.

It has been over nine months since the landslide, which has caused traffic on E6 past Stenungsund to be diverted onto alternative roads.

But on the morning of July 5, all on- and off-ramps affected by the landslide will open again.

"It feels really great that we can open now. Our focus has always been to open the road as soon as possible and now we're succeeding", says Daniel Svensson, project manager at the Swedish Transport Administration, in a press release.

It was previously clear that the motorway would reopen on July 3, including a speech by the King.

However, to be able to open the road again, a slightly larger closure is needed the day before. There is therefore a risk of congestion on other roads, warns the Swedish Transport Administration.

"We recommend that drivers avoid traveling on the roads during the closure if possible", says Anneli Amft, department head for maintenance west at the Swedish Transport Administration.
