20-year-old emptied a magazine from a Kalashnikov straight into the crowd at the tunnel station in Farsta in southern Stockholm. Six people were hit by shots and two died.

The shooter and his accomplices are now sentenced to life imprisonment for the shooting last summer.

Two 19-year-old men are also sentenced to 15 years and 10 months in prison and 12 years and 10 months in prison, respectively, for their role in the shooting, according to the Södertörn District Court.

"It's about an extremely callous shooting on a Saturday afternoon when many people were in motion at Farsta Square. The defendants' actions show a total disregard for other people's lives," says Chief Magistrate Agneta Kornstrand in a statement.

The shooting occurred shortly after 6:00 PM on June 10th.

The shooter arrived in an orange BMW, got out, and aimed a Kalashnikov at the entrance to the subway and then emptied the 21 shots in the magazine straight at a group of people.

A 15-year-old boy who had met up with friends to go to an amusement park and a 43-year-old photographer who was on his way home from a photo assignment were hit and killed. Four others were lightly injured by bullets or shrapnel and a total of 30 people were put in danger, according to the verdict.

Several people testified in court about the panic that broke out when the shots were fired.

The 20-year-old shooter has admitted and claims he did it because people threatened to harm his family.

The court does not believe this and considers the statement to be a "strong impression of an after-the-fact construction". They also take into account messages the man wrote, where he compares the impending shooting to "New Year's Eve".

About half an hour after the murders, the shooter and the driver of the getaway car were arrested after a dramatic car chase on E4. Both are now sentenced to life imprisonment for murder, 17 counts of attempted murder, and for putting someone in danger, to life imprisonment.

They were also charged with aiming at the following police officers with the automatic weapon, but are acquitted on this point as the court does not consider it proven.

The driver is not a Swedish citizen and will be deported for life after serving his sentence.

The investigation has not been able to establish with certainty who the target was, but according to the prosecutor, it was the Foxtrot network that ordered the attack as part of a conflict with the Delta network.
