Thousands of employees at the Swedish game developer Evolution's operations in Georgia plan to go on strike, reports Di with reference to the Georgian website OC Media.
"At present, the union has not communicated its intention to strike directly to Evolution", says the company's IR chief Carl Linton in an email to Di.
Employees at the company want better working conditions and higher salaries. The protests are said to have escalated after internal communication between people in the company's management leaked out. It is allegedly about sexist and racist comments about employees.
After months of negotiations, 5,000 employees are now expected to go on strike on July 12.
"We have concluded what, in our opinion, have been constructive dialogues with the local union, which represents a smaller number of our employees, as well as with a mediator appointed by the state. Unfortunately, we have not reached an agreement", Linton continues.
