Athletics European Championship concludes with perhaps the most predictable Swedish gold – Armand Duplantis in pole vault. There are also high medal hopes for Andreas Almgren in the 10,000 metres.

Here's everything you need to know ahead of Wednesday's competitions in the Athletics European Championship.

+ Duplantis goes for gold and bonus

Armand "Mondo" Duplantis is several decimetres better than his competitors in pole vault. But even if he secures victory early, he is likely to jump to a height that earns him a European Championship bonus of SEK 570,000, and also attempt the world record height of 6.25.

+ Almgren can take his first medal

Long-distance runner Andreas Almgren may not be as dominant as Armand Duplantis, but in the European Championship 10,000m field, he is the only one with a personal best under 27 minutes, 26.52,87. He is therefore seen as the gold favourite and can take his first championship medal as a senior.
