+ The basketball final concludes the Olympic Games
The very last event of the Olympic Games in Paris is the women's basketball final, where the USA will try to defend their gold medal. And they enter as huge favorites, having won seven consecutive gold medals before this year's championship.
Their opponents are France, who after great drama eliminated European Champions Belgium in overtime.

+ Denmark seeks revenge in handball
Denmark lost the final in the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games to France, but this year they avoid meeting the host nation in the final for the first time since 2012. Instead, they face Germany, who have won two tight matches in the playoffs. First against France, and then against Spain.
Denmark, in turn, eliminated Slovenia, who surprisingly made it all the way to the semifinals. The bronze match between Spain and Slovenia is played on Sunday morning, starting at 09.00.

+ Wikström runs the marathon
The athletics events conclude with the women's marathon, and Swedish athlete Carolina Wikström is at the starting line. It's Wikström's second Olympic marathon – three years ago in Sapporo, Japan, she finished 22nd. Since then, the 30-year-old has improved her personal best. In February this year, Wikström ran 2.24.30 in Seville.
In total, the runners will cover 42,195 meters, starting outside the city hall Hôtel de Ville at 08.00. They will run along the Seine River and all the way to the Palace of Versailles before turning back towards central Paris. They will pass the Eiffel Tower before the finish line at the Les Invalides monument complex.
+ The closing ceremony – with Tom Cruise?
When the Olympic Games kicked off on July 26, it began with a unique opening ceremony – for the first time, the OS ceremony was held outside an arena. The athletes sailed in a boat parade on the Seine River, TV viewers could see famous monuments like Notre-Dame and the Louvre, the Olympic flame was lit and flew up in a balloon before superstar Céline Dion took the stage at the Eiffel Tower.
The closing ceremony is expected to be more traditional, at least in terms of location. It will be held at the Stade de France, where the athletics events have taken place during the Olympic Games. But that doesn't mean it won't be spectacular.
Several media outlets have reported that American film star Tom Cruise will perform a daring stunt, picking up the Olympic flag. This will connect the Paris Games to the upcoming 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. The Olympic closing ceremony starts at 21.00.
