On Friday evening, the Premier League football season kicks off with the match between Victor Nilsson Lindelöf's Manchester United and Fulham at Old Trafford. A match that will be broadcast in Sweden via the streaming service Viaplay.
For Swedish TV viewers, this season will, however, bring some changes as the rights holder and financially struggling Nent, which owns Viaplay, has sold some of the Premier League rights to Amazon.
The 13.30 match on Saturdays will therefore only be shown on Amazon Prime, the company announced in a press release. In the premiere round, newcomer Ipswich will face Liverpool, where new coach Arne Slot makes his competitive debut.
Nent's employed commentators, experts, and program hosts, known from Viaplay, will lead the broadcasts on Amazon Prime as well.
Friday: Manchester United–Fulham (21.00).
Saturday: Ipswich–Liverpool (13.30), Arsenal–Wolverhampton, Everton–Brighton, Newcastle–Southampton, Nottingham–Bournemouth (all 16.00), West Ham–Aston Villa (18.30).
Sunday: Brentford–Crystal Palace (15.00), Chelsea–Manchester City (17.30).
Monday: Leicester–Tottenham (21.00).
Viaplay will broadcast all matches in Sweden, except for Ipswich–Liverpool, which will be shown on Amazon Prime.
