The French actress Isabelle Huppert is to be honoured for her long service to film.
The Hollywood Reporter writes that Huppert is to be awarded the film organisation Institut Lumières' finest accolade at the Lumière Film Festival in Lyon in October.
"Regardless of whether it's a comedy, thriller, or art house drama, Huppert transforms every role she plays into an eccentric enigma that she enriches with her authenticity and ironic ability. Her career spans a vast part of contemporary film history", explains the Lumière Institute in a press release.
The accolade and festival were founded by Thierry Frémaux, head of the Cannes Film Festival and director of the Lumière Institute.
Isabelle Huppert was recently seen in the film "Sidonie in Japan". She has collaborated with directors such as Claude Chabrol, Claire Denis, François Ozon and Michael Haneke, and is leading the jury at this year's edition of the Venice Film Festival.
