The method used to join the pipes is called pipe sleeve welding.
"The SHK investigation shows that the fire likely started in connection with these works. The fire then spread from the pipes to the water slide and further to the facility, causing extensive damage", writes the Accident Investigation Board in an interim report.
One person died in the fire that broke out on February 12 this year.
The investigation is still ongoing and is expected to be completed in early 2025. A large number of people have been interviewed, technical investigations have been conducted, and meetings have been held with organizations and authorities.
"The SHK investigation will now focus on the questions of why the accident could occur and what measures can be taken to prevent a similar incident from happening again", it continues.
The water park was intended to open last summer. After the fire, a decision was made to rebuild the adventure pool. It is expected to be completed in 2026.
