The crimes were committed between 2014 and 2022 and are linked to the man's activities in Malmö and Stockholm. He is alleged to have persuaded clients to bequeath their assets to him.

The district court sentenced the lawyer to five and a half years in prison and a seven-year business ban for 14 cases of fraud against his clients. He was also ordered to pay approximately 2.5 million kronor in damages.

The man was convicted of, among other things, gross fraud, gross embezzlement, and gross accounting fraud.

The Court of Appeal for Skåne and Blekinge reduced the prison sentence to four years and the business ban to five years.

The police investigation began after SVT News Skåne examined the man's activities. He was arrested at his home in Malmö last May.
