It was a tough evening for Manchester United at home at Old Trafford against Tottenham. With a 1-0 deficit, team captain Bruno Fernandes was sent off, after unfortunately slipping and thus going into a duel with James Maddison a bit too roughly.

It's a clear free kick, but never a red card. That's my opinion. Even Maddison told me that as soon as he got up. He said directly that it's a free kick, but not a red card. Everyone can see that it's not red, says Fernandes about the situation.

Bergvall directed corner goal

1-0, and one man down at halftime. It looked bleak already then, and it didn't get brighter after Swedish Dejan Kulusevski scored his first goal of the season almost immediately in the second half.

The Swede could, after a turnaround, jump up and angle in Brennan Johnson's pass to 2-0 in an elegant way. Johnson was also the one who gave "Spurs" the lead already in the third minute.

And the fine Swedish afternoon wouldn't end there. In the 77th minute, Lucas Bergvall was substituted in, and his first task was to take the corner that led to 3-0 for Tottenham, which became the final result.

"That's why you play football"

This feeling you have now, it's the one you want to have. That's why you play football. It was an overrun, we showed how good we are, says Dejan Kulusevski to Viaplay.

The loss was Manchester United's third in the league this season. The team is in 12th place in the table after six matches played.

For Tottenham, the win means a climb up the table, to eighth place.

We have four straight wins now, and it's now our season is really starting, continues Kulusevski.
