A rainstorm has moved in over the country and can bring a lot of rain to southern and eastern Götaland and Gotland. Several warnings have been issued. During the morning, the bad weather will move north.
SMHI has issued three yellow warnings for rain similar to flash flooding that apply to southern and eastern Götaland and Gotland.
It looks like it could be 30 to 50 millimeters in some places, but a lot of it looks like it will come in a short time, says Therese Fougman, meteorologist at SMHI.
In the area around southern Lake Vättern, there is a yellow warning for high water flows in connection with new rain. All warnings are expected to apply until 8 pm on Saturday evening.
Risk of flooding
In connection with the bad weather, there is a risk of flooding.
Especially if it hits larger towns and the stormwater system can't keep up with the water, or if it collects in low-lying areas under viaducts, it can become a problem, says Therese Fougman.
On Wednesday, Jönköping County was affected when flash flooding, thunderstorms, and strong winds moved in. The bad weather caused flooded basements, closed roads, and stranded cars and buses.
If you have a basement and have been affected before, it may be worth preparing yourself, says Therese Fougman. So too if you're going to drive in traffic.
Large water collections can be deeper than you think, there is a risk of aquaplaning if you're out driving, so you need to be a little extra careful there. If there's water under a viaduct, maybe you shouldn't drive down there because there's a risk you won't make it out the other side and get stuck, she says.
Moving north
It's a low-pressure system that has moved north from the continent and made its way up over Scandinavia, causing the bad weather that's now moving in.
On Sunday, Svealand also risks being affected. So far, there is no forecast on whether the rainfall amounts can reach warning levels.
Next week, the weather will continue to be characterized by low pressure, where you can expect heavier precipitation.

Yellow warning: Consequences for society, some risks for the general public.
Orange warning: Serious consequences for society, danger for the general public.
Red warning: Very serious consequences for society, great danger for the general public.
