Ludvig Åberg continues to impress in Scotland.

The 25-year-old went another 64-round during Friday's play in the Scottish Open – and is in sole lead.

Hehe, I wish it was as easy as it looks, says Åberg to Viaplay.

Yesterday's opening round ended well with 64 strokes and six under par. But the way there was more complicated with double bogeys and a strange approach that landed right on another ball.

During Friday's play, it was more stable.

The Swede showed off his best self and went around on 64 strokes, this time bogey-free, also during Friday's Scottish Open.

Sole lead

Åberg kept himself in the fairway for the most part, was sharp at the approaches and showed off good putting. During the first eight holes, the Swede made four birdies, which directly took him to the lead of the Scottish Open.

Then Åberg continued to grind and went into twelve under par total after half the competition, after two 64-rounds.

The strong start means that Åberg leads the competition.

We talked a lot about playing with acceptance and... What can I say, almost letting the score come to me instead of me chasing it. Doing the right things, and good things. But yeah, every time you shoot 64-64, it's obviously something good, says Åberg to Viaplay.

Rehearsal for the British Open

The Scottish Open is the only tournament, outside of majors and The Players Championship, where the DP World Tour (European Tour) and the PGA Tour compete together, outside of North America.

It is therefore one of eight tournaments with elevated status on the DP World Tour, and is part of the Rolex Series, which means more prize money and more points to the winner.

Another reason why the world elite gathers in Scotland is that the tournament has for many years served as a rehearsal for the final major of the year, the British Open, which begins next week.
