In May, a player in the Malmö club received a death threat on Youtube. This time, the threats have been sent to an email address belonging to the club.
A threat was received yesterday to the club about a player and another threat was received today about the same player. We reported it to the police immediately, says Håkan Wifvesson.
We have had close dialogues with the police and also spoke with the Swedish Football Association and their security department. We are doing everything according to the routines that exist, he continues.
The threat was emailed in part the day before the top match against Häcken at home on Malmö IP and in part on the match day. Later on Monday evening, the series leader Rosengård won the match 1–0. After the match, no players from Rosengård were available for interviews.
We think it's incredibly sad. You have players who are role models and are supposed to go out and perform at their best in a top match, and then they have to worry about a threat in the back of their minds, says Håkan Wifvesson and continues:
