The Social Democrats do not have confidence in the head of the Agency for Psychological Defence, Magnus Hjort.
The reason is Hjort's actions towards TV 4 when "Troll Factory" was broadcast.
Through the way they acted, the agency became part of the EU election campaign and was actively used to diminish the value of TV4's important investigation, says former Defence Minister Peter Hultqvist (S).
In TV4's programme "Troll Factory", it was revealed in May that the Sweden Democrats' communications department used anonymous social media accounts, among other things, to mock and attack other parliamentary parties, as well as opponents and immigrants.
The Agency for Psychological Defence, MPF, reported TV4 to the Review Board due to interviews with the agency's representatives, which MPF believed had been taken out of context when they were shown.
Wanted to remove interviews
Hultqvist points out that as head of the agency, one has a responsibility to create stability and security in a crisis situation.
It went off the rails right away.
In the report to the Review Board, MPF wanted the interviews to be removed, which, according to Hultqvist, contradicts the Constitution's censorship ban. MPF later corrected the report on that point.
It shows that the agency did not act in a thoughtful manner as required in such a situation.
"No confidence in Hjort"
It shows, according to Hultqvist, that the Director-General had inadequate knowledge of the responsible publisher's role.
The whole setup they later corrected is so unthoughtful, so we don't think it can result in confidence from our side, he says.
We do not express confidence in Hjort.

It is up to the government to take a stance on that issue, says Hultqvist.
