A patient died after being misdiagnosed and sent home by a healthcare center in Södermanland County, reports Södermanland News.
The patient sought care for abdominal pain at the healthcare center in November last year and was sent home with antibiotics as the doctor suspected inflammation of the gallbladder. But a week later, the patient died from appendicitis with an abscess and sepsis.
The healthcare center has now been reported to Ivo, the Health and Social Care Inspectorate.
