After a day's rest, it was time for the tenth stage of the Tour de France. Then it was a Belgian victory after a dramatic sprint finish.

The peloton was unusually well-assembled for a long time. It wasn't until seven kilometers were left that the tempo was turned up, but no one managed to break free from the peloton. Instead, it was decided during the final sprint, where Belgian Jasper Philipsen drew the longest straw.

The Belgian won the approximately 187-kilometer-long stage between French Orléans and Saint-Amand-Montrond, ahead of Eritrean Biniam Girmay. The win was his first stage victory in this year's Tour de France.

Everything went according to plan today. We started the Tour de France with the goal of winning a stage. I'm incredibly happy that we can tick that off now and continue the tour with more confidence in the team, said Philipsen after the win to AP.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, the eleventh stage will be ridden, a 211-kilometer-long mountain stage between Évaux-les-Bains and Le Lioran.

The overall standings are still led by Slovenian Tadej Pogacar.
