The police have thwarted several attacks on schools this year, says Andreas Salsborn at the police region west, reports Sveriges Radio Ekot.
According to Salsborn – who has compiled a situation report on the police's work regarding school attacks – the police receive daily information in this area, which several people work full-time to analyse. In some cases, it involves information where no police measures need to be taken.
But it's also all the way up to us more or less immediately taking action and initiating a preliminary investigation and allocating a resource that goes out and apprehends a person in order to prevent a school attack. There, I can confirm that we have only this year had several cases where we have acted and thwarted school attacks, he says to the radio.
