A police officer in Ystad is being prosecuted for child pornography offences, reports Ystads Allehanda. The investigation has revealed that the man had over 350 images with child pornographic content on his computer. A large number of images are considered to be particularly heinous abuse material.
According to the indictment, the man obtained the images by paying with cryptocurrency on the Darknet.
The police officer has been suspended from work since the preliminary investigation began. After that, he resigned.
This type of crime is as far removed from us as possible. We dedicate our lives to combating, among other things, this type of crime, says Patrik Ahrlin, head of the local police area, to the newspaper.
