A 53-year-old man from the Uppsala area has been sentenced to eight months in prison for gross unauthorised handling of confidential information, announces Uppsala District Court.
The man is said to have mapped and compiled information about defence installations and disseminated the information on a network forum for military enthusiasts.
According to the indictment, it concerns over 40 defence installations in different parts of the country. The man is not suspected of having intended to aid a foreign power, but according to the verdict, the disclosure of the information could have compromised Sweden's security.
The man has admitted to collecting and sharing parts of the material but denied any wrongdoing.
