It was after a football match between Twente and Hammarby in last year's qualifying for the European Championship League that chaos erupted.

Home supporters stormed a stand section intended for Hammarby's sponsors and players' families.

Now, ten people have been convicted of stand violence, reports Dutch RTV Oost.

Five of the individuals were sentenced to prison – four of them to two months' imprisonment, the last one to one month plus one month's probation.

The remaining five were sentenced to community service between 100-240 hours.

All ten are banned from being within a 500-meter radius of the Grolsch Veste arena when Twente plays.

Several of those accused said earlier during the trial that they "happened to get caught up in the brawl" and that they "followed the crowd for the sake of the experience".

The judge did not take the matter lightly.

You have left a trail of violence. A stand with unconscious guests, including children, was stormed, he said according to RTV Oost.

The convicted individuals are between 19-43 years old.
