The Spanish captain Álvaro Morata and Spanish star Rodri were among those who won the European Championship after a 2–1 victory in the final against England. The latter was also named the championship's best player.

In the celebrations that followed back home in Madrid, Rodri and Morata took the lead, and sang "Gibraltar is Spanish" together with supporters.

On Tuesday, the Gibraltar Football Association reported the stars to Uefa for the "extremely provocative and offensive" chants. Now Uefa has launched an investigation to determine whether the duo has breached Uefa's disciplinary rules, writes BBC.

If they are found guilty, Rodri and Morata risk a two-match ban, according to the Spanish newspaper Marca.

Gibraltar, located at the southern tip of Spain, has been a British territory for over 300 years, with a population of around 35,000 people. Spain has long demanded to get Gibraltar back.
