Stenungsund Municipality is requesting 270 million kronor from the government for their costs following the landslide on E6 in September last year, reports Dagens Samhälle.

In the government's spring budget, the Swedish Transport Administration received an extra billion to cover the repair costs of the motorway. According to the authority, the final bill is expected to land far below a billion. So far, their work has cost 370 million kronor.

The landslide also affected the local Ucklumsvägen and Norumsån, which Stenungsund Municipality will restore – a price tag expected to land at around 270 million kronor.

One argument the municipality raises in its letter to the government is that the Swedish Transport Administration has not used its entire allocation. The municipality needs to borrow the entire amount and warns that the costs may lead to cutbacks in municipal operations.

In addition to the repair costs, the municipality has costs of approximately 13 million kronor following the landslide.
