The Swedish protest after the organizer chaos in the 100-meter EM final has been dismissed.

As a result, the Swedish sprinter Henrik Larsson will miss out on a medal and will be awarded fourth place.

"The official results were confirmed late last night. This follows the referees' decision to dismiss Sweden's protest about the false start and the jury's backing of the referees' decision. Now there is nothing more to do, unless new evidence emerges," writes the Swedish Athletics Federation in a press release.

Sweden demanded that silver medalist Chitiru Ali from Italy be disqualified in retrospect due to a false start. The final race was restarted after the false start, and the Italian athlete received only a warning. When the start was repeated, the Italian athlete finished second behind his compatriot Lamont Marcell Jacobs, who won.

Sweden believed that Ali should have been punished with disqualification and filed a protest. If the referees had followed Sweden's line, Henrik Larsson would have been promoted to third place.

However, it won't be like that. Ali will get to keep his silver medal and Henrik Larsson will finish fourth in the race.
