Bronze on 100 metres breaststroke – and now also a bronze on 50 metres breaststroke.

The Swedish talent Olivia Klint Ipsa continues to impress at the European Championship in Belgrade. On Sunday, the 19-year-old took yet another medal.

Talking to SVT, she says:

It was a good race. I think I got into it well, as I usually do well in the last part, when I've got into it after 25 metres. But I think I was good from the start. So I'm pleased.

Her time – 30.90 – was also a personal record. The key to her success?

I think most things are working, just that my starts have got better. And also that everything is clicking in terms of technique, she says.

Despite her fine form, Klint Ipsa admitted afterwards that she was a little surprised by the bronze medal and the strong time.

I didn't think I'd do it. So I'm pleasantly surprised, she says.

Dominika Sztandera, Poland, won with a time of 30.55. Veera Kivirinta, Finland, came second with 30.65.

Later on Sunday, Klint Ipsa was part of the Swedish team that competed in the 4x100 metres medley. Sweden was close to a medal but finished just outside the podium, in fourth place.

The Swedish team consisted of Hanna Rosvall, Olivia Klint Ipsa, Sara Junevik, and Elvira Mörtstrand. Poland won the competition ahead of Hungary and Denmark.
