The Forestry Agency is giving notice of termination to 97 employees, the agency announces in a press release.
The reason is reduced allocations in recent years, the agency states.
"Great efforts have been made over several years to reduce costs. As we announced earlier this spring, it is not enough and we need to reduce our workforce", says Director-General Herman Sundqvist in the press release.
The Forestry Agency has nearly 800 employees across the country and the notices affect all counties.
"Exactly what consequences this will have for our operations, for example, for our ability to supervise forestry and also provide advice and support to forest owners, we will get back to", Sundqvist continues.
