The Minister of Defence, Pål Jonson (The Moderate Party), says it is necessary to strengthen Sweden's security and NATO's deterrent and defence capabilities.

It is essential to quickly and efficiently transport military resources through Sweden and for Sweden to have the capability to provide and receive military support.

Obstacles may include infrastructure deficiencies, but the problems can also be of a technical, administrative, or legal nature. Jonson mentions processes related to the handling of explosive materials, export control issues, and the need to develop new transport corridors.

Not least through the Nordic region, where the military geography mainly runs from west to east, and where several flows need to be strengthened, he says.

Can Sweden not receive the help it is intended to receive today due to these obstacles?

I wouldn't put it that way, but there is an opportunity to enhance this type of military mobility.

The Swedish Armed Forces have been tasked, together with other relevant authorities, to implement the plan. The task is to be partially reported in November and fully reported in January.
