Shortly after 3 am on Sunday morning, a police patrol found a woman in her 20s outdoors in central Säffle. The police have since launched a preliminary investigation into rape.

The woman was taken to hospital. The police do not want to comment on the woman's health status.

The police cordoned off the area and have searched with dogs and drones in the area. No one has been arrested yet.

We have had investigative personnel on site during the morning, says Lars Hedelin, the police's press spokesperson.

The police investigation continues with, among other things, questioning, gathering of witnesses and technical evidence.
