Svensk or foreign, pop, rock, rap or country? Which will be the big hits dominating summer 2024?

Music experts seem to agree that Sabrina Carpenter and Benjamin Ingrosso will be the winners.

Mari Hesthammer is music editor at Sveriges Radio P3. She highlights three tracks that the channel believes will be the summer's biggest hits: "Espresso" by Sabrina Carpenter, "Honey boy" by Purple Disco Machine and Benjamin Ingrosso, and "Million dollar baby" by Tommy Richman.

The channel also believes that Molly Sandén's and Håkan Hellström's new tracks will be a hit this summer.

Music editor Morgan Storesund Skarin predicts in "P3 Sommarmix" that, in addition to Carpenter and Ingrosso, the country track "A bar song (tipsy)" by Shaboozey will be on the summer soundtrack. The track has been played frequently since its release in the spring.

Countrypop

Robert Sehlberg, music chief at Rix FM, starts by mentioning the Swedish artists expected to reach summer heights.

Benjamin is red-hot in 2024. His new track "Look who's laughing now", which is released on Friday, is a priority worldwide. Molly Sandén is hotter than ever.

But he also highlights countrypop-rock, which has reached new heights recently.

Countrypop-rock has escalated this year. Beyoncé has made this genre mainstream. Cowboy hats and cowboy boots have never been hotter, he says.

He believes in Shaboozey's "A bar song (tipsy)" and Dasha with the track "Austin (Boots stop workin')".

Dasha is predicted to be the next Taylor Swift.

C Gambino

Spotify predicts that the late rapper C Gambino's "Sista sång" will have a place among the summer's most streamed tracks.

The music service also places "I had some help" by Post Malone and Morgan Wallen on the list of expected high-streaming tracks. In addition to Carpenter and Ingrosso, Spotify believes that "Maraton" by Miss Li and Eah Jé, "Helluva life" by Hov1, and "Stargazing" by Myles Smith will be on repeat for summer activities.
