Saturday's training session in the Seine River for triathletes is cancelled. Heavy rain risks making the water unusable again in the disputed river.
The mixed relay in triathlon is scheduled to take place on Monday. Now, the organizers are cancelling the training sessions in the Seine two days prior.
The organizer states in a statement that the training had to be cancelled due to "the heavy rain over the past two nights, which has been particularly intense upstream of Paris, and the expected deterioration of water quality as a result".
The river had to be closed even during the training sessions prior to the women's triathlon and the men's competition was postponed due to poor water quality.
