According to Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, the suspects were arrested in several different cities across the country, including Istanbul and the capital Ankara.
Turkey has been hit by several major terrorist attacks in recent years, which IS has claimed responsibility for. In response, the country has carried out a series of mass arrests of alleged IS sympathizers, including early in August when nearly 100 suspects were arrested.
It is estimated that over 3,600 people with suspected links to the jihadist group have been arrested in Turkey over the past year.
Since IS's so-called "caliphate" fell in 2019, it is believed that many IS sympathizers have settled in Turkey.
