Hundreds of border control officers at the large London airport Heathrow are warning of a strike between August 31 and September 3, reports Sky News.
The strike is followed by an overtime blockade and other work-limiting measures until and including September 22.
The long-standing dispute concerns forced schedule changes. According to the trade union, 160 people in the personnel have left the border control due to the lack of flexibility.
We know that our strike actions will likely cause serious disruptions for travelers using Heathrow at the end of summer, but the strike can be avoided if the employer listens to our members' concerns, says PCS union chairman Fran Heathcote to Sky News.
Border control officers also struck several times in the spring, which caused long queues and major delays at the airport.
