William Spetz became TV king at the Crystal Gala

The Netflix series "Tore", about a young man whose life blossoms when he has to take care of himself after his father's unexpected death, is written, among others, by William Spetz, who also plays the lead role.

The series received the awards for best comedy and humor and best male lead role.

We are a bit taken aback because we don't think the series is that funny, said William Spetz in TV4's "Efter fem", after receiving the first prize.

Netflix also won the award for this year's young drama for the series "Barracuda queens", about five young girls who go on a theft tour.

The streaming giant could also celebrate when the huge success "Love is blind: Sweden" was named this year's love reality. Almost all the profiles from the program came on stage to receive the award.

Nothing for the Ingrosso siblings

Last year, siblings Bianca and Benjamin Ingrosso dominated the gala and received several awards. Both had several winning chances this year as well, but were completely shut out. On the other hand, their mother Pernilla Wahlgren received the award for this year's program host.

The SVT series "Smärtpunkten", about the scandal surrounding Lars Norén's "7:3" production and the police murders in Malexander, became this year's TV drama. "Smärtpunkten"'s Maria Sid also received the award for best female lead role.

This year's male program host went to a moved Pär Lernström, who despite long and faithful service in the TV box had never won before.

I've worked with this my whole life, it's what I can and think is fun, that someone thinks it's good means something for real, he said in TV4's "Efter fem".

SD investigation awarded

TV4 received a prize for "Kalla fakta", for "Undercover i trollfabriken", the exposure that the Sweden Democrats used fake accounts in social media.

It's so cool that the jury also thinks it's an important exposure. We think so, and we hope the Swedish people think so, but that the jury thinks so – it's a recognition for the job we've done, said reporter Daniel Andersson in TV4's "Efter fem".

The TV prize Kristallen is being awarded for the 20th time, but for the first time, the gala is not being broadcast live on TV. Viewers' interest in award ceremonies has decreased, and like the music Grammis and the Football Gala, Kristallen has disappeared from linear TV.
