Police regional command center has handled around 40 cases related to Södermanland County between 22:00 and 07:00.

High-speed ride ended in a truck collision
Around 02:20, the police were alerted to a damaged car that was driving fast and erratically on the E4 northbound near Jönåker. A short time later, the police spotted the car, which before it could be stopped collided with a truck and drove into the median. This occurred near Sjösa, just outside Nyköping. The driver, a man in his 18th year, was later taken to the hospital. According to initial assessment, he did not suffer life-threatening injuries as a result of the accident, but was stuck in the car. The man is now suspected of drunk driving, reckless driving, and unauthorized driving. No other persons were injured in connection with the incident.

The police have, in addition to this, carried out various routine checks on their own initiative or following reports from the public.
