Under the morning, the police were contacted by two men who had gotten lost during a hike on Fälpfjället, Föllingebygden in Krokoms municipality. The men are said to have tried to find their way back to their car for two days and have run out of water.

The police officer on duty made a decision to initiate a rescue service with the support of the Act on Protection against Accidents. Mountain rescuers were called out and at 12:40, they reported that they had arrived at the distressed individuals.
