According to initial reports, the truck is lying on its side next to the road. The driver, who does not appear to have been injured, has managed to get out of the vehicle himself.

Emergency services have arrived at the scene.

UPDATE 12:45 The police's work at the scene is complete. The reason the car ended up in the ditch is that the road verge gave way. The police do not suspect any crime in connection with the accident.

The driver is fine but is being checked by ambulance personnel for safety's sake.
