A close relative contacted the police when their mother was swindled out of several gold jewelry pieces in her home about two hours earlier. The home is located in a smaller town in Borlänge municipality.

According to the complainant, it had gone so that the mother was first called by a person who claimed to work at Elgiganten and that the mother had ordered mobile phones, which she had not done.

A short while later, a man who claimed to work at the police's fraud department called and said that the police would come to the mother's home for a check. They would look at all the gold the mother owned.

A little later, a man took pictures of the mother's jewelry. At the same time, the woman was talking on the phone to another person who asked her to hand over the jewelry she was wearing to the man who was visiting, which she did. This man said he had a better camera in his car, so he took the jewelry and left the home.

After that, both the man and the jewelry are gone.

The police have been on the scene for questioning and forensic testing. An investigation into gross fraud has been initiated.
