Multiple calls came in about a shooting in central Hallstahammar. A man was found dead at the scene. Several patrols were dispatched to the location and a cordon was set up pending technical investigation.

Resources, including helicopters and dogs, participated in the operation. For a period, public transportation was affected by Hallstahammar. Several witnesses were heard in the matter and door-to-door questioning was conducted.

Anyone who has seen something that can help the police is urged to call 11414, or 112 if the situation is urgent.

Families have been notified of the death. The case is being investigated as a murder.
