Police and ambulance are alerted to an address outside Kalmar due to an ongoing assault.

When the police patrols arrive, a woman with stab or cut wounds is found outside a residence. She is taken to the hospital by ambulance.

A man who is suspected of having inflicted the woman's injuries with some form of sharp object is also found at the scene. He is apprehended, suspected of attempted murder.

The woman who was attacked is in her 30s, and the arrested man is in his 35s. They have some kind of relationship with each other.

The scene is currently cordoned off pending technical investigation.
