Fifty people have been arrested in several countries in connection with an international operation against drug trafficking, writes the EU's police cooperation Europol.
The arrest was the culmination of an investigation that has been ongoing since August 2023. Following wiretapping, a sailboat was seized on international waters in the West Indies with cocaine on board worth 50 million kronor.
In June, 39 people were arrested in Spain, Norway, Poland, and the UK who are suspected of involvement in organized drug trafficking. Together with the crew, a total of fifty people have been arrested.
During the investigation, several cocaine vessels have been identified that operated between South America and several coastal cities in Spain.
