After the controversy - Larsson selected: "Good discussion"

Hugo Larsson and Jon Dahl Tomasson have talked it out. After the turbulent last gathering, the 20-year-old is once again part of the Swedish national team. We have had a good discussion, says national team captain Tomasson.

Hugo Larsson was the big talking point after the last national team gathering. Larsson was disappointed about the lack of playing time and the coach's statements about him.

After the match against Azerbaijan, where Larsson did not get any playing time, he said:

I told him that I would have liked it to stay between us. Some things should stay within the family.

Before the match against Estonia, Larsson then left the national team with a "slight injury feeling", according to the Swedish Football Association.

"Talked about football and life"

Since then, Larsson has returned to training and match play with his club team Eintracht Frankfurt, while there has been speculation about his future in the national team.

In the squad for the away matches against Slovakia and Estonia, he is included. This after a good conversation with the coach.

I called Hugo, as I call all players. We had a good discussion. We talked about football and life. He wants to be part of it, which is extremely positive. It became a big deal in Sweden what happened last time, but it's not a big deal in the squad, says Tomasson.

Larsson quickly returned to training with Frankfurt after leaving the Swedish national team.

Hugo was injured. He talked to the medical team, also in Frankfurt. A minor injury. I can't imagine a player not wanting to play for the national team. Of course, he was injured, says Tomasson.

He continues:

For the second thing. There were many feelings and he is ambitious. I've been there myself. It's okay to be disappointed. Everyone wants to play, but only eleven can start.

Isak misses out – Lindelöf back

Captain Victor Nilsson Lindelöf is back after injury.

One who, on the other hand, misses the next gathering is star striker Alexander Isak, who is injured. Emil Forsberg, Jens Cajuste, and Mattias Svanberg are also missing from the squad.

Notable is also that four goalkeepers have been selected:

Robin (Olsen) has had a head injury and been out for a long time. Robin must get through this week and do the right things, follow the protocol. Then we'll see if he can be part of it on Monday (when the national team gathers) or not, says Tomasson.

Sweden meets Slovakia on October 11 and Estonia on October 14. Both matches are away games.

Goalkeepers: Viktor Johansson, Stoke, Kristoffer Nordfeldt, AIK, Robin Olsen, Aston Villa, Jacob Widell Zetterström, Derby.

Defenders: Ludwig Augustinsson, Anderlecht, Alex Douglas, Lech Poznan, Gabriel Gudmundsson, Lille, Isak Hien, Atalanta, Emil Krafth, Newcastle, Victor Nilsson Lindelöf, Manchester United, Ken Sema, Watford, Eric Smith, St Pauli, Carl Starfelt, Celta de Vigo.

Midfielders/forwards: Yasin Ayari, Brighton, Lucas Bergvall, Tottenham, Anthony Elanga, Nottingham, Niclas Eliasson, AEK Aten, Viktor Gyökeres, Sporting, Jesper Karlström, Udinese, Dejan Kulusevski, Tottenham, Hugo Larsson, Frankfurt, Sebastian Nanasi, Strasbourg, Gustaf Nilsson, Club Brygge, Anton Salétros, AIK.
