Migrations policy splits the parties in the EU election.

SD and KD are the only ones who want asylum centers outside the union's borders.

This became clear when the party leaders clashed in SVT's final debate. When asked which parties want the EU to try to relocate the asylum procedure to countries outside the EU, SD and KD said yes. The others said no, except for M, who said "maybe".

SD's Charlie Weimers is critical of the EU's new asylum legislation, which has just been passed.

M, S, L, and C think the EU's asylum legislation is good, KD said "maybe" it is good.

SD, MP, and V think it's bad, but for different reasons. MP's Alice Bah Kuhnke is critical, among other things, that the EU pays money to countries like Libya and Tunisia to stop illegal immigration.

Both MP and V want to see legal and safe ways for asylum seekers to enter the EU, for example, humanitarian visas.

The conflict was also clear when the party leaders debated the Gaza War. Opposition parties want the EU to take a harder line against Israel. V, MP, C, and S want, among other things, to suspend the trade agreement with Israel.

Social Democrat Helene Fritzon wondered how upset Teodorescu Måwe would be if children in Gaza didn't get the emergency aid they, according to all war rules, have a right to.

KD's top name countered by saying "in your Malmö, Jews disappear due to the anti-Semitism you have imported".

Support for Ukraine also came up in the debate. All parties agree that it is important to continue the support and that there is no upper limit to it. However, there are differences on how the support should be financed.

MP and L say yes to EU countries being able to take joint loans. V, S, C, KD, and SD said maybe. M said no, citing that it's better to get money in other ways.

Fritzon (S) warned that M and the liberal-conservative group in the EU parliament will start cooperating with right-wing extremists instead of social democrats, liberals, and the greens.
