The Swedish women's handball team had mostly practiced attacking play before the rehearsal in Scandinavium.
It worked anyway, notes Linn Blohm after the 29-30 loss to the Netherlands.
It's nice that we succeed with what we train on, even if we missed some really big chances, she says.
For Linn Blohm, the rehearsal was also a reunion with Per Johansson, who recently coached her Hungarian club team Györi to Champions League victory.
It was a really fun ending to the season, she says.
It was a bit "finally". We've been fighting for this for all my three years in Györi.
"Good rehearsal"
Sweden's national team coach Tomas Axnér notes that the loss to the Netherlands became a "good rehearsal", especially for some of the players who haven't played a match in a relatively long time.
He is also pleased with the attacking play. But less pleased with some other aspects, such as the Netherlands managing to punish Sweden quite hard in connection with the Swedish substitutions.
It's something that's hard to train on, we've stood a lot in established attacking play so far, he says.
We have long good periods in the first half. In the second... well, it only became one goal in the end, but it's maybe a bit flattering for us. On the other hand, we also miss a lot of chances.
"Long season"
Sweden now has barely three weeks left until July 25, when Norway, one of the gold candidates, awaits in the OS premiere.
This gives a little time to practice defense and other parts, emphasizes Linn Blohm.
It's been a long season for many. It's not like you've had a vacation, but it's just full speed ahead into the next thing, she says.
So I think we have a good setup. You can't go all out right away.
