The German automotive group BMW is recalling more than 140,000 electric Mini Cooper SE cars due to the risk of battery fires.
According to BMW, there are no reports of accidents or injuries related to the fault that needs to be rectified, according to The Wall Street Journal.
According to BMW, a software update will be sufficient to protect the car from the risk of battery fires. The car manufacturer is urging customers who receive a recall notice or see an error message in the car to take it to a service center to have the fault rectified free of charge.
