China expresses "strong dissatisfaction" with the sanctions against companies in the country that came into effect in the USA on Friday.
"China urges the USA to immediately cease its misguided actions and we will take necessary measures to secure the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies", says a Chinese spokesperson for the country's trade department.
On Friday, the USA introduced sanctions against nearly 400 companies and individuals deemed to be supporting Russia's warfare in Ukraine, several of the named companies are Chinese.
The USA has repeatedly warned China that the country's support for Russia's defense industry may have consequences. China has not condemned the war, but claims to be neutral in the conflict.
